Munich schoolThe School in Munich is situated in the West of the city not far from the city centre and is easily reached by public transport.

The polytechnic is right on the doorstep and it’s also not far to the university, the student quarter of Schwabing and the English Garden. The school has ten class rooms, a media resource centre a basement party room, and its own student guest house.

A drinks machine with hot and cold drinks and a cafeteria serving small meals and drinks in the mornings, ensure that the course participants don’t go hungry.

Standard course

This short term course is suitable for students that want a general German course focusing on the four key language skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening. Suitable for students with previous knowledge of German or complete beginners.

Combined course

Students follow the Standard German course and have an extra 5 or 10 private lessons each week depending on how intensive a course they desire. Perfect for students that want the diversity of a group course but would like a few private lessons to focus on a specific area of the language, topic or exam.

Private tuition

20, 25 or 30 private lessons per week. Lessons can be tailored to the needs and requirements of the students, to a particular subject or focusing on a specific exam. Students can have private lessons on a 2 to 1 basis providing they are of a similar ability.

German TestDaf Preparation course

This 4 week course has been specially designed to prepare students for the exam format and the precise demands of TestDaF. Students learn a range of strategies and techniques to help them deal successfully with the tasks and challenges of the exam and work with model exam papers to give students ample practice. On completion of the course, the exam can be sat at the school.

Accommodation

Host Family

The school carefully selects and regularly reviews the host families they recommend. This form of accommodation means that guests are housed in a single room, either with a host family or with individuals, and share a common bathroom. They offer overnight accommodation without board, or with breakfast, or half-board. This form of lodging, particularly with board, is an ideal way to really dive deep into German culture. Distance to the school: 30-60 minutes by public transport.

Student Residence

The school in Munich has a Student Residence of its own with 124 beds. There, modestly appointed single rooms and commons rooms are located on six floors. There are a variety of shopping opportunities (supermarkets, bakery, butcher’s shop, fruit and vegetable stands) located in the immediate vicinity of the school and Residence.

Single room furnishings include: bed, closet with safety cubby, desk and chair, bookshelf, refrigerator and sink. We provide bedding, towels, dishes and eating utensils. Each floor has shower and toilet facilities, two kitchens and two common rooms for shared use.

Kitchen furnishings include: stove, sink, individually locking cupboards for each tenant.

The common rooms’ furnishings include: dining table and benches, iron and ironing board, TV, telephone.

In the Student Residence, we also offer daily cleaning of common rooms and weekly cleaning of rooms, washing machines and dryers, WLAN/WiFi for own laptops, vending machine with hot and cold drinks, table tennis room, basement party room, public telephone.

The reception desk is staffed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 10:00 a.m. until noon and from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

At the reception desk, you will find: information of all kinds, washing machine tokens, telephone cards, games, soccer balls, table tennis racquets and more.

Transfer

A transfer service from Munich airport or station to your accommodation is available at an extra cost. Alternatively we can provide you with advice on travel.

Learning German at the school Munich means more than just taking part in the course. Join with your fellow students and get to know the City of Munich, with its wide variety of cultural and leisure offerings. Each month, the school in Munich assembles a varied and interesting program of cultural and leisure activities for you. Aside from the occasional transportation costs or admission tickets, our program costs you nothing.
